BEVERLY HILLS PENTHOUSE - LOS ANGELES, CA
Interior design and art consulting for a private residence above LA with views of the Beverly Hills Country Club, and Pacific Ocean. Our narrative for this young skincare executive focused on soft, sumptuous feminine elements in an etherial and sculptural environment, bracketed by thoughtful art by emerging and estabilished artists.
project description
We designed this ethereal penthouse for a young female entrepreneur and investor. The project location was key in the overall concept and inspiration of the home. The Penthouse is on the 39th floor with north facing sweeping views of Los Angeles, nestled right next to Beverly Hills. The home sits above the Los Angeles Country Club, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The home offers rare vistas of rolling green hills in the middle of the busy and very vast and populated city of LA. On clear days, the ocean can also be seen in the distance. We strongly believe in a sense of place and the elements that surround it as guiding principles in our design work. This setting informed our design ideas and concepts for the space: airy, modern, feminine, romantic, layers of textures in the space, a neutral and warm palette, and art as focal points and pops of color.
The home was conceived as both a place to relax, and entertain, to be comfortable in and not too stuffy and a place to inspire creative projects and ideas. We wanted everything in the home to contribute to the overall feeling of the space, but not take away or distract from it. The penthouse location high above in the sky at the cloud level informed our conceptual narrative for the project and we quickly created an ethereal layered neutral palette of leathers, shearling, hair on hide, woods, boucle, linens, wool, velvets and mohair for a soft and cozy feel.
Some of our favorite moments in the project are the master bedroom design where we selected a large mural wallpaper to anchor the bedroom. The space features a custom hair on hide bench from Cuff Studio, the Pumpkin chair by Ligne Rose, and a mirror by Bower studios. In the living room design, we went for low and comfortable furnishings to make the space feel larger. The Little Petra chair in shearling, the Marenco Sofa and the leather and oak chair are some of our favorite collectible design pieces in the home. The result of the project is a space that feels collected with art selected for the home, feminine, modern and balanced.
